547 fresh COVID-19 cases take India's tally to 6,412; toll at 199: Health Ministry 

The health ministry on Friday reported 30 new deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the toll due to the novel coronavirus to 199, whereas, the number of cases climbed to 6,412 in the country.

The 6,412 positive cases include 5,709 active cases, the 504 who have been either cured/discharged or migrated and the 199 casualties, the health ministry reported.

35-year-old Markaz attendee tests positive for COVID-19 in Bokaro; Jharkhand tally at 14

 A 35-year-old man, who attended a religious congregation in Delhi last month, tested positive for COVID-19 in Bokaro district, taking the total number of coronavirus cases in Jharkhand to 14, officials said on Friday.

The man, a resident of Pipradih village in Chandrapura block, was in the isolation ward at Bokaro General Hospital for the last one week, said district medical officer Ashok Kumar Pathak.

The test report came in late Thursday night, he said. The first COVID-19 fatality was reported in Jharkhand on Thursday as a 72-year-old man died of coronavirus in Bokaro district.

So far, six COVID-19 cases have been detected in Bokaro district, seven in Ranchi city and one in Hazaribag district, health department officials said.

65-yr-old woman dies of COVID-19 in Rajasthan; state reports 26 fresh cases

A 65-year-old woman who had tested positive for corona virus died here, taking the toll in Rajasthan to eight, an official said on Friday.

The state also reported 26 fresh cases of the deadly virus Friday morning, taking the total number of COVID-19 patients to 489. The official said the woman was undergoing treatment at SMS Hospital for COVID-19 and she breathed her last Thursday evening.

"The woman from Ramganj in Jaipur was admitted to SMS Hospital on Wednesday with a complaint of respiratory distress pneumonia and co-morbidity hypertension. She had tested positive for COVID-19 and was on a ventilator," the official said.

This is the first death of a coronavirus patient in Ramganj and second in Jaipur.

Telangana woman rides scooter for over three days to bring back stranded son from Andhra Pradesh

A woman in Telangana rode nearly 1,400 km on a scooter over three days to bring her son home after he got stuck in Nellore in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh owing to COVID-19 lockdown.

Razia Begum (48) set out on the arduous journey on Monday morning armed with local police permission, rode solo to Nellore and returned with her younger son on Wednesday evening, showing an endurance level even seasoned rallyists would find hard to match.

"It was a difficult journey on a small two-wheeler for a woman. But the determination to bring my son back overtook all my fears. I packed rotis and they kept me going. It was fearsome in the nights with no traffic movement and people on roads," the brave mother told PTI on Thursday.

Three new COVID-19 cases in Dadar

As many three new cases of the novel corona virus was reported from Dadar, in south Mumbai on Friday. Two nurses of Shushrusha Hospital and a man from Kelkar road tested positive for COVID-19, ANI reported. 

The total number of cases in Dadar is now at six.

Chicago's largest prison reports 450 COVID-19 positive cases

As many as 450 inmates and staff have tested positive for the novel corona virus at Chicago's largest jail, county corrections officials said on Thursday, representing one of the nation's largest outbreaks of the respiratory illness at a single site so far in the pandemic.

The surge of cases at Cook County Jail marks the latest flare-up of COVID-19 at jails and prisons in major cities across the United States, where detainees often live in close quarters.

Ban on selling of fruits and veggies in Ghatkopar on five days of week 

A complete ban on selling of food and vegetables in Mumbai's Ghatkopar was announced on Friday to ensure a severe lockdown was implemented. There will be an exception only on Mondays and Thursdays between 10 am and 5 pm, News18 reported.

There are 300 containment zones in Mumbai so far.

Five fresh COVID-19 cases in Dharavi take tally to 22

Five new cases of the novel corona virus reported from Dharavi in Mumbai, take the total number of confirmed cases in the congested area to 22 on Friday. Some of the new cases include Tablighi Jamaat attendees and the wife of a medical worker from Wockhardt Hospital, News18 reported.

Amid the mounting pressure, the Maharashtra government has announced door-to-door testing to ensure the7.5 lakh people living in Dharavi be tested for COVID-19 in the next ten days.

21 fresh COVID-19 cases emerge in Vadodara

Gujarat registered 21 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Vadodara on Friday, of which 20 people are from Nagarvada area, ANI reported. The total number of confirmed cases in Vadodara is 39 so far.

19 fresh COVID-19 cases in Bihar, state tally at 58; Siwan district emerges as hotspot with 27 cases

Bihar was rattled by a spurt of COVID-19 cases on Thursday after 19 people tested positive for the infection, taking the total number to 58, even as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar urged citizens not to "hide" their travel history.

Siwan district emerged as a hotspot, accounting for 17 of the fresh cases, all but one of them members of the same family in Raghunathpur block, which has been sealed by the local administration and from where close to 100 samples were collected and rushed to the state capital for testing.

The 16 COVID-19 patients from Raghunathpur include a 10-year-old boy, three girls aged between 11 and 12, nine women in the age group of 19 and 50 and two men, aged 19 and 60.

According to Principal Secretary, Health, Sanjay Kumar, all of them had caught the contagion from a corona virus patient who had travelled to Oman.

The total number of cases from Siwan has now reached 27 - close to half of the statewide aggregate of 58.

Two fresh COVID-19 cases in Siwan district, Bihar's tally at 60 

On Friday, two members of a family tested positive for the novel corona virus in Siwan district, taking the COVID-19 tally in Bihar to 60, ANI reported.

According to the news agency, the two family members have had contact history with a positive patient who had returned from Oman.

Six COVID-19 deaths, 365 confirmed cases in Andhra Pradesh

The total number of confirmed cases of the novel corona virus in Andhra Pradesh rose to 365 on Friday after two individuals tested positive for COVID-19 in Anantapuram district on Thursday night.

Of the total 365 cases, 10 patients have recovered and since been discharged. "There are six deaths reported so far," said State Nodal Officer.

Above restriction is to cut down people moving put more on name of veggies & groceries, markets lo koncham kastam control cheyyatam..
