Total of 846 COVID-19 cases reported in Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh principal secretary Amit Mohan Prasad said that a total of 846 COVID-19 cases have been reported in 49 districts of Uttar Pradesh, including 74 cured/discharged.

He also said that 2,962 tests were conducted on Thursday. 993 people are in isolation wards and 10,714 are in quarantine facilities in the state, he said.

COVID-19 cases in Dharavi cross 100

Reports on Friday said that the total number of COVID-19 cases in Mumbai's Dharavi crossed the 100-mark with 15 cases reported in the last 24 hours. Reportedly, 10 deaths have occurred in the densely-populated area so far.

Singapore records 623 new coronavirus cases; foreign workers in dormitories worst-affected

Singapore on Friday reported 623 new cases of coronavirus, increasing the total number of infections to 5,050 with most of the cases linked to packed dormitories housing foreign workers, many of them Indian nationals.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) releasing the preliminary figures said the new cases were mostly of foreign workers in dormitories. (PTI)

With only 1 new Covid-19 case, Kerala's active cases at 138, cured at 255

Kerala reported only a single Covid-19 case today, taking the number of active cases in the state to 138. Meanwhile, the number of cured Covid-19 cases in the state stands at 255.

The Kerala health department said that only one new case of corona virus was reported in the state on Friday, taking the total active cases to 138.

Meanwhile, 255 patients have reportedly been discharged, while two people have succumbed to the infection.

Ratio between recovered Covid-19 patients, deaths stands at 80:20: Health ministry

3,19,400 tests conducted so far: ICMR

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), during the routine government briefing on Covid-19, said that 3,19,400 samples have been tested so far in the country and 28,340 tests were conducted yesterday.

 

19 states/UTs have less doubling rate than the country’s average

The health ministry said that 19 states and union territories have a lesser doubling rate of Covid-19 cases than the national average. The 19 states/UTs are: Kerala, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Pondicherry, Bihar, Odisha, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, and Tripura.

77 new COVID-19 cases reported in Mumbai today

MCGM on Friday said that 77 new COVID-19 cases and five deaths were reported in Mumbai, taking the total number of positive cases in the city to 2,120 including 121 deaths.

78 new COVID-19 cases reported in Gujarat

78 new COVID 19 cases were reported in Gujarat on Friday, taking the total number of cases in the state to 1,099. This includes 86 discharged/recovered patients and 41 deaths.

The Haryana government said that the active number of COVID-19 cases rose to 135 in Haryana. 86 patients have recovered while two others succumbed to the disease.

991 new cases, 43 deaths reports in last 24 hours 

991 new COVID-19 cases and 43 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, said Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday.

The toll due to novel corona virus has risen rose to 480, with 28 more fatalities reported on Saturday, while the number of cases saw a jump of over 500 to go up to 14,378, according to the Union Health Ministry data.

Corona virus scare in Navy

Over 25 Navy personnel have already been tested for COVID-19, many have been found positive aboard INS Angre, docked in Mumbai. The first cases was reported on April 7. Meanwhile, there is no confirmation on the exact numbers of positive cases as many suspects' results are still awaited.

Jharkhand woman, who recently delivered baby, tests positive

A woman who had delivered a baby two days ago in Ranchi's Sadar Hospital, has tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday. Her child has been admitted to the isolation ward at RIMS hospital. "The Sadar Hospital staff members who had attended to the woman are now undergoing tests," ANI quoted Ranchi Administration in Jharkhand as saying.

Dr V Kashyap, Medical Superintendent RIMS said that the baby is under proper care and all precautions are being taken. "A detailed discussion was held by experts and doctors, and the baby has been allowed to be fed by mother, after proper sanitization. Baby's sample will be sent for testing today." he further added.

China's imported cases reach 1,566; revised toll 4,632

China's imported cases of coronavirus increased to 1,566 with 27 fresh ones, while its revised death toll stood at 4,632 with 50 percent jump in fatality figures from the epicentre Wuhan, health officials said on Saturday.

The country's National Health Commission (NHC) announced the revised national figures of coronavirus, taking note of Wuhan's new data.

As per the new figures, the overall confirmed cases on the mainland reached 82,719 by Friday, including 4,632 deaths. As many as 1,058 patients are still being treated and 77,029 have been discharged from hospitals.

On Friday, Wuhan's officials announced that as of April 16, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases was raised by 325 to 50,333 and the number of fatalities up by 1,290 to 3,869.
