With 376 new cases, Gujarat's tally reaches 5,804

Gujarat has reported 376 Covid-19 cases today after which its total mounted to 5,804, including 4,076 from Ahmedabad alone. The state has reported total 319 coronavirus deaths so far. The state government said that 25 patients are on ventilator support, while, 4,265 are stable.

121 fresh coronavirus reported in Uttar Pradesh, state total now 2,766

Uttar Pradesh's coronavirus count reached 2,766 after the state reported 121 fresh cases on Monday. The state has reported 50 coronavirus-related deaths so far, of which, the maximum -- 14 -- have been reported from Agra. Meanwhile, 802 coronavirus patients have recovered and have been discharged from hospitals till now.

Only 3 fresh Covid-19 cases in Telangana today

Telangana reported only three fresh Covid-19 cases today, after which its active case tally stood at 471. The state has reported 29 coronavirus deaths so far.

105 new Covid-19 cases in Madhya Pradesh, total count reaches 2,925

With 105 fresh coronavirus cases reported today, Madhya Pradesh's total virus count has reached 2,942. The state has reported a total of 165 deaths so far. Indor, with 1,611 Covid-19 cases and 77 deaths, is the worst-hit district in Madhya Pradesh.

Tamil Nadu: Chennai's total corona virus tally at 1,724

Chennai has reported a total of 1,724 cases of corona virus till date. Out of the 1,724 total cases,1,438 are currently active. Chennai has also reported 18 Covid-19 deaths.

Testing figure nearing 2 Lakhs..

Its 771 only total figure is 14541 yesterday it was 12974 possibly some back tracked cases could have been added to reconcile with ICMR figures...

One thing is today 350 patients have recovered/discharged that a new record...

India confirms 46,433 COVID-19 cases with 1,568 deaths

India registered 46,433 COVID-19 positive cases on Tuesday with 1,568 fatalities due to the viral disease, according to the latest data released by  Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. 

The figure includes 32,134 active cases.

COVID-19 toll in US rise by 1,015 in past 24 hrs, lowest in a month

The toll due to corona virus in the United States rose by 1,015 in the past 24 hours, a tally by Johns Hopkins University showed Monday - the lowest one-day figure in a month.

The Baltimore-based university had recorded more than 1.17 million cases in the country as of 8.30 pm Monday (12.am Tuesday), with 68,689 deaths.

Rajasthan registers 3,099 COVID-19 cases after 38 more test positive

After 38 more people test positive for the novel corona virus in Rajasthan on Tuesday, the total number of confirmed cases in the state climbed to 3,099, said health ministry. 

So far, lives of 82 COVID-19 patients were claimed by the infectious disease. There are 1,577 active corona virus cases in the state.

COVID-19 antibody tests to be available by end of May

Global healthcare company Abbott has announced that its lab-based serology blood tests to check for COVID-19 antibodies has been approved and that these tests will be made available to India by the end of May. Antibody tests can not only reveal if a person has COVID-19 antibodies and potential immunity to the disease but can also help the development of treatments and vaccines for COVID-19.

ICMR to use IBM’s Watson to speed up COVID-19 response

 

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is collaborating with IBM to install its virtual tool, Watson Assistant, to speed up and simplify testing, sample collection, diagnostics and data entry to provide a more accurate picture of the COVID-19 situation in India. The ICMR hopes to use the data to increase India’s detection and treatment protocols.

Andhra Pradesh registers 67 new cases in past 24 hours

67 new COVID-19 positive cases reported in Andhra Pradesh in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases in the state to 1717 with the state toll at 34, according to the state health department.
