Kool_SRG Posted April 25, 2020 Author Report Posted April 25, 2020 COVID-19 cases at 40 in Himachal Pradesh, says state health department The Himachal Pradesh Health Department put the total number confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state at 40, out of which 15 are active, ANI said. The department also said that 20 people have recovered so far while ones person has died from the virus. As of now, 4,623 samples have been tested for coronavirus. While 4,363 have tested negative, result is awaited for 220 samples. The state has 9,374 people under surveillance, according to ANI. Quote

Kool_SRG Posted April 25, 2020 Author Report Posted April 25, 2020 57-year-old constable dies of COVID-19 in Mumbai A 57-year-old police constable who had been diagnosed with COVID-19 passed away at aprivate hospital in Mumbai on Saturday, officials said. This is the first known case of a police personnel dying due to corona virus infection in Maharashtra. The constable was attached to a police station in western suburbs. He lived in Worli Naka area in south Mumbai. A total of 96 police personnel, including 15 officers, have contracted corona virus infection in Maharashtra so far, officials had said earlier in the day. PTI 281 new cases detected in Mumbai 281 new positive cases and 12 deaths were reported in Mumbai on Saturday.Total number of cases in the city stands at 4,870. A total of 762 persons have been discharged till date of which 167 were discharged today. Authorities say the daily figure is a 1.5 per cent increase from Friday, compared to over 20 per cent from a month before. Kool_SRG Posted April 25, 2020 Author Report Posted April 25, 2020 Madhya Pradesh starts bringing back migrant labourers stranded in other states Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the he had spoken to his counterparts in Gujarat, Maharahstra, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan to bring back migrant labourers stranded in those states. Over 2,400 labourers have boarded about 98 buses in Gujarat and migrant workers are also being brought back from Rajasthan, he said. Health check up were conducted before their departure and will also be conducted at the state borders, he said. Additionally, over 8000 labourers stranded in different districts of the state have been allowed to return home, said the chief minister. Shops to be opened in rural areas of Madhya Pradesh: CM Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that shops in rural areas of the state, except those in containment areas, would be allowed to open from tomorrow. In urban areas, shops in market places will be allowed to open however only those selling esential items will be allowed to in residential complexes. Additionally, shops will remain close in containment areas and shops and in shopping malls. Cinema halls, hotels, gyms and beauty parlours will continue being closed. Shops will also remain closed in Indore, Bhopal, Ujjain, Jabalpur and Khargone keeping in mind the safety of the residents of these cities, he said. Quote

Kool_SRG Posted April 25, 2020 Author Report Posted April 25, 2020 Two new COVID-19 cases in Ladakh Two persons tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Ladakh on Saturday, taking the number of confirmed cases in the Union Territory to 20, reports PTI. The number of active COVID-19 cases in Ladakh are four and all of them are stable. Sixteen patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals, the official said. A new case was reported from Bogdang village in Nubra area of Leh district, and the other from Sankoo in Kargil district, said Rigzin Samphel, commissioner secretary (health). The family members of the two have been shifted to quarantine centres. The person in Sankoo had a travel history to Iran and had reached Delhi on February 26 before travelling to Leh on March 5, Samphel said. The person in Bogdang had a travel history to Gujarat and had reached Chandigarh on 2 February. He had reached Thoise in Nubra on 9 March. The samples of all the co-passengers will be collected and tested, according to the official. The area of Sankoo is already under containment and contact tracing will be carried out. Moreover, 500 samples from Bogdang will be sent for testing, he said. Meanwhile, Leh District Magistrate Sachin Kumar issued an order declaring Bogdang as a containment area. Quote

Notably, the Union Health ministry had on Monday added Latur, Osmanabad, Hingoli and Washim districts in Maharashtra in its list of districts from 23 States/UT that have not reported any fresh cases in the last 14 days (preceding April 20). "A 70-year-old woman from Udgir died at the COVID facility there at 4:15 pm. She was admitted on April 23. The woman was suffering from diabetes and hypertension. Her report for COVID-19 came positive this afternoon," said district civil surgeon Dr Sanjay Dhage.Following the death of the woman, state minister Sanjay Bansode has appealed to people from Udgir to remain indoors and to follow social distancing norms.
