Kool_SRG Posted April 28, 2020 Author Report Posted April 28, 2020 78% of Haryana's COVID-19 patients are male, highest number of cases in 25-34 age bracket, says health minister As on 25 April, as many as 78 percent coronavirus patients in Haryana are male and many of the total cases fall in the young age group bracket. Besides, Tablighi Jamaat members account for 46 percent of the cases, PTI quotes Health Minister Anil Vijas saying.As many as 74 cases were of people in the 25-34 age group, 53 cases were in the 15-24 age group, 22 in the 65-74 age category while no patient was above 85 years of age. "The Tablighi Jamaat people accounted for 46 percent of the cases, international travellers 14.5 percent, health staff 18.7 per cent, domestic travellers 6.2 per cent. Contacts of positive cases accounted for 48.18 percent cases, while contacts of Tablighis were 20.7 percent, vendor/shopkeepers etc. accounted for 28.10 per cent," he said. Haryana saw the maximum weekly spike of 86 new cases between 7-13 April when majority of the cases related to attendees of the Tablighi Jamaat congregation were detected. The religious congregation attended by several thousand people was held in Delhi's Nizabackn last month where a many were reported to have contracted the virus, apparently from foreign delegates. Of the new cases, 26 were reported in Jaipur, 25 in Jodhpur, 24 in Kota, 11 in Ajmer, eight in Tonk, four in Dholpur and one each in Banswara, Nagaur, Sikar and Udaipur. Two people died of the disease today, taking the toll to 52. 770 persons have recovered from the disease till now, said the state health department. Quote

However, 106 patients were discharged after being cured of the virus. A total of 1,388 [persons have been discharged till date, according to the state public health department. Kool_SRG Posted April 28, 2020 Author Report Posted April 28, 2020 Decline in COVID-19 cases continue in Telangana; only six test positive today The decline in COVID-19 cases in Telangana continued on Tuesday with only six fresh cases being reported as Health Minister E Rajender hoped the trend would continue and the pandemic would soon end in the state without more deaths. With these six cases, the total number of positive cases in the state has risen to 1,009. No fresh death occurred and the number of people who died due to the virus continued to remain at 25, Rajender said. Forty two people were discharged today, taking the number of people discharged after recovery to 374, he said. The number of active cases in the state stood at 610. Quote

First coronavirus death in Indian paramilitary forces: CRPF Jawan dies A 55-year-old CRPF Sub-inspector (SI) rank died due to COVID-19 on Tuesday while around 46 of other personnel of his battalion tested positive for corona virus infection in Delhi. This is the first death to the virus among the around 10 lakh-personnel strong paramilitary forces. The state also reported 31 more deaths due to the disease, raising the toll to 400, he said. With this, Maharashtra COVID-19 figures are as follows: Positive cases-9,318, deaths-400, discharged-1,388, active cases-7,530 and people tested so far-1,29,931. Mumbai city reported an increase of 393 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, taking its tally to 6,169. The state capital has reported deaths of 244 patients so far. Quote
