Faucci and most of the medical professionals know. There is no way to stop the spread of this virus. Because of it's asymptomatic spread, most of the people will get this virus at some point in the next few months.. What they are trying to do by this lock down is to reduce the number of people infected at the same time. If too many people are infected at the same time and even if 10% of them need to be hospitalized, the hospital capacity in the states and country won't be enough.. By this quarantine measures they can flatten the curve so that the hospital systems and resources are not overwhelmed.. Quote
