Narayana education institutions chief arrested

The Andhra Pradesh Telugu Academy here has charged the Chairman and two Managing Directors of a leading private educational institution with violating copyrights of its textbooks, following which the police today registered a case against the latter. The institution, however, denied the charge.

The Telugu Academy alleged that four textbooks of Intermediate Education published by it were reprinted by Nishith Multimedia Private Ltd, a printing house of Narayana Group of Educational Institutions, which they said had caused them heavy financial losses, police said. They further alleged that the Narayana Educational Institutions'' Founder and Chairman P Narayana, and the Institute''s two Managing Directors (Naryana''s wife and daughter) were reproducing the Academy''s textbooks in violation of the Copyright Act, they said.

"Following the complaint, police registered a case against ''Nishith Multimedia Private Ltd and the trio under section 63 (Offence of infringement of copyright) Copyright Act," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Zone) Akun Sabharwal told PTI. The Intermediate Board had given permission to the Telugu Academy in 2007 to publish the four textbooks, an official of the Academy said. Another police official said investigation was being conducted into the matter and no one had been yet arrested.

Police recorded the statement of Narayana, who later speaking to the media, refuted the allegations of the Telugu Academy. Meanwhile, Higher Education Minister D Sridhar Babu said the government was looking into the allegations and necessary action will be taken if anyone was involved in copyright violations of Telugu Academy books.

nenu inter narayana main campus (Nellore) lo sadivinanu. 3 campus unay nellore lo . 2 wifes ki oka oka campus. and one more wife in vijyawada campus chusukuntadi ani vina..
