Hi friends,

Do you anyone kid with autism?My 4 year old cousin is recently diagnosed with autism.What therapies are recommended?

Why nothing to worry bro?Parents are worried a lot.Already preschool lo special education ani tag vesi seperate class lo vesaru.Kid issues are speech delay and not interacting with other kids.Academically kid is good

they might be gifted with other abilities and try to find out that and encourage them doing it. 

also treat them as normal kids some will definitely change in later years.

nothing to worry, they should send him to India and be with kids out there he might get those social skills as well. 

speech delay's I think they are common with baby boys

That's the problem with educational system why don't they put that kid with normal kids when he is academically strong

Speech delay is not big issue bro try therapies slowly ,I have seen kids 5,6 years with speech delays but academically strong

Some are suggesting to stay in US  and not to go to India so that kid doesnot miss speech therapies.

initially preschool lo teachers expressed concerns.Then after 6months waiting list was diagnosed officially by medical specialists as moderately autistic

speech therapists help kids in producing speech and also correcting speech

hmm we can do that as well as parents, parents part is huge in these kind of these situations. normally boys are little slower than girls

which state are you in ? If you are in USA then this is the best place to get all the support you need for the kid.

There are lot of state sponsored institutes, you need to start the process systematically.

Since child is diagnosed with autism  you must have done the evaluation was it at Development pediatrician / child psychologist / private therapist / Public School ?

And Autism spectrum is very big, do you know where the falls in autism spectrum. Some of them are very mild even we might have them but our folks might have just thought "Moddhhu pillodu". SOme are quite serious and young age therapies are effective.

Get the child services ASAP, donot ignore couple of months also. Some public services takes time, in the mean time start with private therapies insurance will cover it with .  Parents need to reduce screen time drastically (TV,phone,Ipad) . if we do that child automatically interacts with parents more often and the other way also.

Sending the kid to india to interact more with family may or may not help. But be alert and react quicker.

 

PM me dude and ignore people who say that it's nothing to worry about. I feel you should do everything you can and then stop worrying about it. No doing anything and not worrying is pointless.
