Just that you were never treated like a woman at work. I am just surprised you never had any problems with your subordinates. I especially have problems working with subordinates, mostly older men who have PhDs, a lot of men don't necessarily listen to me despite being my subordinates because they are older than me, and also because they are men.

awwww... you don't get to pick your subordinates aa...

You pick them on their qualifications, if I employ a student for one year, then he works with me for one year, I can't fire them before. Also it's harder to work with men who are older than me, they think they know better than me just because they can think so.

While everything you said makes sense, we are far from that idealistic scenario.

We live in a world where there are cultures that treat women as third-class citizens. I live in a first world country where women still have to fight for what they can do with their own bodies.

it takes time to reverse centuries of fuckedupness

I thought you said you have been respected for your work. I thought you were being sarcastic because you're a woman. Nevermind.

the thing is, what she said is not an idealistic scenario.

she wants women to be free to be as pathetic, assholish as the men are.

Ellen is a a dangerous revolutionary hiding behind the quiet confident nerd  :giggle:

The ideal scenario is when women beat down men who act like assholes. stomp them on their feet. grind them to dust.

but obviously high flyers don't have time for that. its easier to aspire to be assholes themselves.

but women can never outcompete men in being assholes. They are always gonna lose.
