Economic indicators say market may have peaked out short term but then market has been defying odds since long. So best bet is to buy blue chips. Or if you want to play safe, buy index funds. A lot of people posted info on Index funds here. Go back a few pages on this thread. 1

If you are scared then just put into index funds and forget about them until retirement (this also implies that you ONLY invest the money you don't need immediately) 1
