eg. some asshole rapppes a woman... and one can make the argument that woman shouldn't move out after night. rationality works in mysterious ways in a crowd. and it takes way longer to form a consensus on basic rules to govern ourselves.

rationality itself is a lot of times derived from religion and tradition. 

what people need is freedom. Not shackles in the form of religion, nation or rational arguments. They should be free to choose. that should be the fundamental tenet of humanity. not rational discourse. I dont trust people to rationally adjudicate an issue that they dn't have any business interfering in the first place.
