Venkaiah Pained At Vijayasai's Comments

Vice-President and Rajya Sabha chairman M Venkaiah Naidu on Monday said in Rajya Sabha that the remarks of YSR Congress MP V Vijayasai Reddy have pained him.

Vijayasai Reddy questioned the chair for not expunging the statements of TDP MP K Ravindra Kumar, who cast objectionable comments during his speech in the House on February 4, during the course on the motion of thanks to the President’s Address.

The YSR Congress member said that the chair was biased and cast aspersions stating that the chair was in favour of the BJP and TDP members.

Venkaiah Naidu took objections to these remarks and said his mind, heart and body were all with the constitution and the people of the country.

He said that the chair would examine and expunge if required, only on the basis of a complaint against any member’s statements in the House.

On Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar’s speech, Venkaiah Naidu said no one had objected and complained.

“I am with the country and with the people. Not with any political party. I am also not biased. If you have any complaints against my functioning, I welcome you to move a no confidence motion,” Venkaiah Naidu said in the House.

TDP MP Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar had made unwarranted comments against Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in the House during his speech.

Vijayasai Reddy requested the chair to remove these remarks from the records, for which Venkaiah Naidu said he would examine and take appropriate action.
