but we were not a single country back then..idk how people talk as if we had the present india in 1800s. It was all small kingdoms

During the course of WW2 , hitler gave an offer to Britain that if he was given a free hand in eastern and Western Europe , he would leave Britain alone and British could have all of its empire across world ... I wonder if Britian had taken that offer , WW2 would have been over in an year ... Not much damage to britian ... in that case they would have been strong enough to rule india for another 50 years ... I don’t think they would have given us independence

the cultural identity was still there. We don’t know for sure what would have happened with the geographical map of current India.. but freedom fighters did fight for the Independence of that cultural entity which was under British rule.

See the point is not about the wealth British looted only. The point is about the kind of atrocities British committed on the natives and are still of the opinion that they developed Indians.

It’s like Hitler’s force claiming that they whatever did was for the good of the Jews. The same reason why Jews observe Holocaust remembrance day/week to share and reinforce their stories so that the younger generations are aware of the history.
