FTE looks more respectful on paper and it might also have some immigration-based perks. However the level of commitment and being struck with same technology for a very long time can have disastrous effects on a long run.

Completely Disagree. It’s easier for an FTE to change technology, understand the big picture, take ownership of the delivery and see it through. 

Internal transfers are pretty common now a days and guess what you don’t have to fake on your resume to move to a different tech. 

if you actually want to grow in your career always go for a FTE. Granted you’ll have to deal with some politics but that’s necessary if you want to grow. Dealing with internal politics teaches you some great life lessons.
