With the surge in Covid cases, Tamil Nadu has announced ‘Mini Lockdown’ in the state starting from Monday i.e 26th April. The state has imposed strict restrictions under this ‘Mini Lockdown’. Saloons, Beauty Parlours, Gyms, Malls, Theatres, Dine-in at Restaurants are shut from Monday onwards. However, only take-aways are allowed from the restaurants given that food falls under the essential category. This is likely to affect the retail businesses in Tamil Nadu to the core.

Karnataka has also enforced similar restrictions as all the shops are shut down, except the supply of essential commodities like vegetables, dairy products. Even bakeries have been shut. Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have imposed night curfews and barred the public movement from 10pm to 5am.

Kerala has also imposed lockdown-like restrictions in the state. The vehicle movements have been barred similar to what was seen in the last year. The state announced a weekend lockdown. Going by this, except Telugu states, the entire South India is under lockdown like situation.
