My father was 85. But he was very healthy and sounded like 50 on the phone. Even with the infection, he had 50:50 chances. Hospitals are overloaded with cases and have no resources. That put him at only 5% chance. India is 0% prepared. Guntur town has 4 or 5 big Hindu smasan vatikas. My father's number was #13 by 7:15AM at one of them. Imagine how bad the situation is. This second wave is going to wipe out 30% of those above 75. To save your elders, we need to keep younger ones at home. They are the carriers.

Voluntary organizations are helping the government and public with the last rites of the deceased. All are students in their early 20s. I cannot even imagine what will be the situation without them. Probably we will have mountains of dead bodies.

None of them are vaccinated. They are not considered front line warriors. They are thinking that god is protecting them for their service. Their age is protecting them and I strongly believe that many of them are asymptomatic carriers and are spreading the virus. 

Please influence all those people you know and specially who are volunteering to get vaccinated as quickly as possible.
