Andhra Pradesh CID denies MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju's allegations over misuse of his mobile phone

The phone has been sent to the forensic lab to check the contents inside, including the SIM card and the call and message history as part of the investigation, the CID said.

The Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) has denied the allegations of YCP MP K. Raghurama Krishnam Raju that his mobile phone in their custody was being misused by the officials.

In a statement released on Monday, APCID that arrested the MP on May 14 from his residence in Hyderabad on the charges of sedition, said they seized the mobile phone of Raju as per the procedure and seizure report was prepared mentioning the details of the item. As per the details given by the MP at the time, it was an i-Phone 11 ProMax containing a SIM card bearing the number 9000911111 provided by Airtel, the CID said.

However, the police said, the MP is now claiming that his phone number is 9000922222 and spreading false information that his mobile is being used by CID Additional DGP PV Sunil Kumar for sending abusive messages to a private person. "His version is totally contradictory to his own testimony given to us while preparing the siezure report," the CID said.
 

 

The phone has been sent to the forensic lab to check the contents inside, including the SIM card and the call and message history as part of the investigation, the CID said. "We are awaiting the forensic lab report and will submit the details to the Supreme Court," it added. The complaint filed by the MP before Delhi police was false, they said.

Meanwhile, Raju in his complaint filed with Delhi police stated that “I have already sent a legal notice to Sunil Kumar regarding the unlawful seizure of his mobile." The rebel MP alleged that on the night of May 14, Sunil Kumar and four other CID sleuths beat him up mercilessly. “One among them sat on my chest and compelled me to disclose the lock number of my mobile number and in order to save my life, I revealed it," the MP said and sought action against APCID chief PV Sunil Kumar.

The MP tweeted on his handle @RaghuRaju_MP that retired IAS officer PV Ramesh received offensive messages from the mobile number which was unofficially seized by CID police AP on May 14th, the day of his arrest. "Still it is with them. I have issued legal notice to return it. Four days back blocked that sim and obtained new sim," he said.

The MP also wrote letters to most of his Lok Sabha colleagues and chief ministers of various states seeking their support to raise the issue on the floor of the house.

Raju Phone With Forensic Lab, Clarifies CID

A couple of days after rebel YSR Congress MP from Narasapuram Kanumuri Raghurama Krishnam Raju lodged a complaint with the Delhi police about missing of his mobile phone during his arrest on May 14 in the sedition case, the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department came up with a rejoinder.

In his complaint, Raju alleged that a mobile phone confiscated during his arrest from his Hyderabad residence the CID authorities was not listed in seizure records with the courts and it is being used to send offensive messages to others. He sought action against APCID chief PV Sunil Kumar.

On Monday evening, the CID issued a statement to the media, saying the mobile phone of Raju was seized properly as per procedure and a seizure memo was prepared in the presence of witnesses on May 15. 

“The cell phone was seized as it is an important piece of evidence in the case since the said cell phone could contain evidence of the preparatory events to the commission of the crime and the role of the conspirators in the commission of the said crime,” the CID said.

It pointed out that when the seizure memo was being prepared, Raju himself admitted that the iPhone 11 Pro Max mobile phone carried Airtel SIM with number 9000911111.

At that point, there was no way in which the IO could ascertain what the actual number is. He recorded what was told to him by Raju.

The phone was properly sealed in front of the two witnesses to avoid any tampering and a report of the same was forwarded to the concerned jurisdictional magistrate of the CID court, Guntur. 

Later, the mobile phone in the same sealed cover was forwarded to AP Forensic Science Laboratory on May 18 for Preliminary Analysis, Dump Data, Image and Final Report of the FSL maintaining proper chain of custody. 

“Every development is being reported to the jurisdictional court. In this regard, a dump of the phone was submitted to the Court on May 27 and processed dump data (Image) was submitted to the Court on May 31,” the CID said.

It denied the allegation of Raju in his complaint to the Delhi police that the police had seized his SIM with number 9000922222 was completely contradicting his own statement made in presence of independent witnesses while preparing the seizure memo.

“The cell phone is in the custody of APSFL since May 18 and under the seal of FSL since then and the CID has no access to the same and the intervening propaganda is undertaken by the accused to overawe the investigating agency with false and frivolous complaints and circulated to public domain,” the CID said.

“The CID till this point of time has no way to find out what the actual number is since the final report of FSL is still being awaited,” it said, adding that all these developments shall be placed before the Supreme Court.

RRR recent notice lo ne undhi kadha. CB/CID didn't inlude the phone in the collected items in the police records., they maintained that they didn't possess the phone. As per the legal process, they needed to inluce in the records. RRR notice icchaka YSRCP vallu RRR son video spread chesi, CB/CID phone theesukoledhu ani chepparu. Its drama by RRR after 2 weeks annaru. Yesterday CB/CID said they have the phone with AP Forensic Science Laboratory (APFSL). Do you think APFSL has ability to crack iphone?
