After china occupied 10 kms acros the border it stopped and offered another ceasefire to india. India did not accept. Then it fully won the war - occupied arunachal pradesh fully. Then declared cease fire unilaterally, gave up all the areas they occupied unconditionally and went back. india's humiliation was complete. No, they occupied 38,000 square km (15,000 square miles) of territory in Aksai Chin. Its called India's chicken neck. Its strategically very important for India in war.
