Breaking: If you bought agriculture land being NRI, get ready to empty your pockets

There is a regulation that NRI cannot buy agricultural land or farm houses, but many bought it. Godi govt is coming up with a recommendation to review all such sales, verify source of funds and regularize such properties. The regularization fee is exorbitantantly high. Looks this is just  to extort money from NRIs. Mainly if you routed funds through NRI bank account for these sales then you are in trouble.

H1 and GC are considered as NRIs not US citizens. This is not new news but old ones
