I am currently planning to do some hands on projects in Bigdata using  pySpark.

Can you suggest some materials or sites where we can get some sample data and perform these practice projects to get into Data engineering world.

you can get started with Spotify data 

Sample Projet:

create a text file with Artist Names and extract their related artist information.
