Lifetime warranty

Some companies fantastic no-questions-asked warranty on their products. Personally I know craftsmen and north face honor their warranties for long periods 

Some companies define "lifetime warranty" that covers only manufacturing defects.

so it depends on the company / product you are buying .

Sometimes it can be lifetime of the seller/company or 5 years which ever is higher. Everything has a bailout language that works i the manufacturer's favor but not the consumer's

Obviously , everytime a warranty is redeemed the company loses money . 

But there are some great companies that honor long warranty periods . 

For example craftsman honors their warranty for decades old tools , people used to buy old broken craftsman tools and exchange them for brand new ones.
