I contacted two doctors from uscis list and the nurses on phone told me about this. My pcp hospital is not the uscis list. For Hep B or other needed vaccines they said they will give prescription order and i can do at cvs or walgreens pharmacy. I don’t have chickenpox at childhood so i may have to take vaccine now. Quote

AndhraneedSCS Posted August 23, 2021 Report Posted August 23, 2021 I just took the vaccines as that is zero cost to me (insurance will cover 100%) and it saved me a lot of time. Quote
Rich_fellow123 Posted August 24, 2021 Report Posted August 24, 2021 I just called my local doctor who is in USCIS list and he is asking me to take all the vaccines which are in I-693 form like Hep B, Varicella, MMR, Tdap etc, I said I already have couple of them taken then he is asking for proof. He said he cannot determine these through blood test. Not sure to go with him or look for another doctor in different location. What do you suggest @MRI One of my friend had his Medicals covered through Insurance with Desi doctor, he did not have his annual so he used these tests as annual check up and used Insurance.....lucky fellow Quote

It is a personal decision. I wouldn't take them and would look for another doctor. Blood test gives antibody count. If you have antibodies, you need not retake vaccine. Kadhalu padutunnadu. Again, a personal decision. Annual checkups are free even if you go multiple times in a year. People are misinformed on this. As long as they are billed as preventative and not diagnostic. Vaccines are preventative. So, try talking to the medical provider's billing dept and get them covered in that manner. Many say no but ask them to inquire with insurance. The way you ask is.. "I am not coming with any issue that is diagnostic. I learnt recently that I may not be vaccinated and I am worried. So, can you give medical codes for vaccines?" Take that code and ask insurance company whether they are preventative codes or diagnostic codes. If preventative, all fine. If diagnostic, call back billing office and talk to a supervisor. Ask the person, "when I have no issue and trying to get vaccines, why am I being given diagnostic codes? Can you please check on that?" Make sure you do not spill vaccines are a need for you. Mention them as preventative. Tactical vuntey medicals ni kooda alaaney cover cheyinchochu.. Quote
