He lost because of the politrics of both the parties. YCP campaign of Janasena is a binami of TDP (Vote for Janasena = Voting for TDP) worked out very well at the ground level. Due to lack of Media power JSP couldn’t counter attack. Also JSP attacked opposition YSRCP more than ruling party TDP is a big mistake. JSP considered YSRCP as opposition in the elections rather than TDP. 
But he will be decision maker or opposition for AP in 2024. TDP is gone for atleast next 10 to 15 years. No matter what they do people lost trust in Chandra Babu with his bad decisions and steps during his last regime. No strong leadership in TDP and the age factor of Chandranna is a drawback as well. Jagan will go to jail if he is not CM next time. So he will go to any extent to regain the power.

Possibly the reason could be that there is lot of negativity with TDP at that time and JSP considered YSCRP as the threat.  I’m just speculating and if that is the case then the JSP strategy misfired. JSP did attacked TDP during the initial phases of the election campaigning but during the end phases more focus was kept on YSRCP. In the last 1 month of elections due TDP played a game of saying JSP will join with us and voting TDP = voting JSP.  PK standing from two places misfired. Also no ground level cadre. Things will be different for 2024. Let’s see. By the way I’m not biased to any caste or party. I’m a pure spectator following politrics of AP

Jsp started in 2014. Supported tdp in 2014. He couldnt build cadre in 5 yrs. Actually make it 8. Still no cadre.

2019 lo tdp folks ki baaga tickets ichadu. Spyreddy defected from tdp to jsp in last min and 3-4 mla tickets for his family. Even kid can understand that pk was doing what cbn asked him to do.

2024 lo kooda vaadu mla gaa gelavadam kastamey.
