Lets say there is an filesystem mounted on certain volume 123 on abc server

Volume lo 100 gb data undi

if I Unmount the file system and remount it with new volume

Still my data exist on the new volume or its gone?

mounting is like attaching an external file system (say a) into a server (A). When you mount a to A. A can access all the data in a. When you unmount, A loses access to a's data.

Mounting and unmounting will not delete the data.

External file system meedha store chese purpose ye adhi kadha baa…

if you loose your server instance ,  your data will still be available . You can spawn a new server and mount the external file system and your data will still persist
