i woked in bengal  few years ago for a while and locals say the cadre what TMC is njoying is originally CPM one, they are all goons and survive on wasooli & other activities.

When they saw CPM getting weak, they switched loyalties to TMC, if they see TMC getting weak they will switch to whoever is gaining ground... so Mamatha personal charishma , ee batch atu itu aithe TMC mayam ayi potundi..

Mamatha and Jagan won’t give a about Congress before elections since they are non existent in WB/AP. There will not be a prepoll alliance. What PK suggested is to form alliances with regional parties where INC doesn’t exist. Congress is reaping the results of what they have done to screw up the party in their strong holds. NCP, TMC, YCP, TMC (Mupanar) etc are because of the HIGH COMMAND policies. They have yielded to AAP in Delhi, Punjab. They have yielded to BJP in states like Bihar, WB, TG etc.
