At least 4.7 million people died in India due to Covid-19 in 2020 and 2021, the World Health Organization said on Thursday, releasing new estimates of the pandemic’s true death toll which, it said, came to about 15 million fatalities worldwide, close to three times the official data released by countries in this period.

They collected month by month analysis of data for 16 states i think and extrapolated to country.

Gujarat lo covid ex-gratia ke apply chesina vallu 90000 but official death count is 10000

Telangana lo 31000 applied for covid ex-gratia, official death count is only 3000.

ex-gratia ke inka many apply cheyaledhu… so unofficial count 4.5mn lo no surprise.

4.5 mil is a number way too high. At the most, less than a million.

I would say, even a million is also very high estimate. 
 

Coming to exgratia to be used as a source of count, almost every death that has happened between these COVID time can be used to collect è gratia amount, you know how things work. 

Sometimes brain kuda kaadu kani, we just need to understand how things work around us..

its across 24 months. Indias normal death rate is around 7 or every year approx 80 laks to 94 laks deaths per year. So they are saying an additional 15% more people died due to covid.

WHO criteria is if a dead body is covid positive then it is covid related death no matter what other co-morbidities are there.

Ehe…COVID death certificate was a big mess as this has never happened earlier. Cause of death kuda no proper guidelines were framed until the second wave was through…so almost all the state governments messed up COVID with respect to death certificates. If you want count death certificates, you will never get a proper count if not a closer estimate.
