you can also apply for COBRA incase there is some delay in between the coverages but it is costly.

but for msft it ends in last working day.

Dude , I did similar thing recently.

I took 1.5 months gap, went to india and then joined in the new company after vacation.

I took United Health Care insurance for 90 days , as new company insurance starts after 60 days.
