In fact Tamil people own Pandyas more, given that its under their patronage that sangam literature flourished. Almost all classical stories are ones that described culture government and society of the pandyan kingdom.

Yuganiki Okkadu didn't show Cholas as heroes. They showed them as backward ass, sniveling cowards mired in superstition. It also didn't show Pandyas as villains.
