inka Tamil vs Telugu fights jaruguthaai about who makes better films.

manam okati add cheddam.. obviously from the tamil side, coz many of them are anti tamil racists here.

copymouli gaadu oka scene copy kottadu in Bahubali, from this novel's illustrations ani already telisindhey.

The same author wrote another book with links to Po.Se called sivagami sabatham. and Copymouli picked the names of Bahubali characters from that book - Devasena and Sivagami.

And also that silly elephant scene in Bahubali may also have been from this book.

but it was so beautifully written in the book. To introduce the title character Ponniyin Selvan. First time hero appears in the novel after some 250pages.

Vijayendra Prasad was in discussions when Ponniyin Selvan was attempted to be made in the 90s by Kamala Haasan.

He himself admitted that he did use some scenes from that in Baahubali.

There's also a war scene in Ponniyin Selvan in one of the flashbacks where Vijayalaya Chola goes to war while being carried on his soldiers shoulders.

RRR has a lame version of that scene.

to be fair, its lame in the book also. Ponniyin Selvan is actually reactionary Tamil supremacist novel, that thumbs its nose at muslims, and glorifies Tamil and Hindu civilization and Chola Kings.

I'm pretty sure given Maniratnam is turning Sanghi, he's going to have that one scene where muslim pirates kidnap the hero and is rescued by the other hero. I hope he atleast cuts out dialogues that describes muslim pirates as animals and how their religion is not as developed as our Hindu religion.

this description is literally there in the book. lmao. 1950s were like that may be.
