kaavalantey Rajamouli is the Maniratnam of Telugu cinema ani cheppuko.

Maniratnam was trying to take on grander projects like Kadal (in philosophical scope) and couldn't handle it. taravatha he got back into his regular sh1t to make money. Now again he wants to risk by taking on a project that is grand in drama.

rajamouli vs maniratnam cheyyatam is just silly. rajamouli chaddi lo unnadu when maniratnam made his first movie. and he's still making them, in contemporary style. Watch his recent flop movies - Katru Veliyidai, a much better version of Arjun Reddy, with stunning visuals to boot and grand acting from both leads, and much better writing where the hero actually realises that he's an abusive asshole and repents.. Stylistically Maniratnam is still there. Rajamouli only recently made his start. His earlier films were a joke, liked only by people who watch trash. like simhadri etc.

He handled many stars in the past but never handled such a mammoth project. Mani Ratnam may be a better filmmaker but Rajamouli is the greatest marketer of this generation. Adi ardham cheukokunda veellu ekkuva budget pedithe losses thappa em undadu.

yes. He is getting over ambitious with PoSe.. Just like he got over ambitious with Kadal.

Maniratnam's marketing is so poor that he released a teaser of his most expensive project in a convention hall, in front of 500 people, with the artists talking about the movie and the role for an hour. Nothing else.

PoSe loss avtundi ani ela cheptaav? They made 2 movies. and will release them within 2-3 months of each other.

plus Maniratnam's biggest weakness is the writing (still miles ahead of Rajamouli anuko), and with PoSe he's got that part covered. that it will be a loss venture seems wishful thinking from you, than having any actual reasoning behind it.
