Anta Assamey Posted August 4, 2022 Report Posted August 4, 2022 YCP’s Rajya Sabha MP Vijayasai Reddy flashed in a new avatar. In the on-going Parliament sessions, Vijayasai Reddy occupied the Speaker’s chair of Rajya Sabha in the absence of original speaker Venkaiah Naidu and his deputy. Usually the Vice President acts as the Speaker of the Upper House and in his absence the deputy Speaker would take the mic. But in Thursday session both the persons were unavailable and the opportunity turned Vijayasai Reddy’s way. The YCP leader graced the chair and he kind of had a tough time managing the house. Opposition leader, Mallikarjun Kharge was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the case against National Herald and speaking he said, “As an MP, I am bound to attend the Parliament sessions. While I’m here, ED orders me to appear before it for questioning. Is this ethical?,” questioned Kharge. Rajya Sabha leader Piyush Goyal replied to Kharge that ED is an autonomous body and everyone should follow what they have been ordered. While Piyush Goyal was replying, opposition MPs protested and Vijayasai Reddy struggled to put the house in order. Nevertheless does Vijayasai Reddy getting such a big responsibility hint something? Can’t go lower than this. Delhi lo undey edhavalu, background check cheyara kurchi ekkinchinappudu? I might sound novice, but actually it is frustration Quote
