Not just ipl Every player has to be consistent, not just any particular individual, and players are given specific roles within a team ... and they're supposed to play accordingly .. Kohli & Rohit are by default part of Indian national team squad, and not judged by their forms because everyone knows they are better than that and they've proved it time and again .. Kohli had a rough phase for a few years (2019-2021) but he was never sidelined from the team .. similarly Rohit is known for his power hitting .. he was the reason for India's strong performance in WC 2023 as he initially gave very good start and laid a platform for the middle order to score while batting 1st/2nd .. Even in the current generation, no one even comes close to power hitting like Rohit, if he gets going !!! On the other hand .. Kohli has failed to perform in knock-outs most of the time .. but again he's still 'one in a generation' kinda player .. There might be players who'd have made to that squad a bit earlier than they should .. but these players according to me are the most deserving !!!
