pizzaaddict Posted May 18 Report Share Posted May 18 Social media lo hadavidi chestunaru Modi operandi: The politicisation of Indian cricket – Almanack 1) The BCCI attempted shifting the ICT (Indian Cricket Team) jersey from the all-blue jersey we have worn since the starting to a all orange colour jersey ahead of the India-Pakistan Match. This is because Pakistan was wearing Green (The colour of Islam) and Jay Shah (the son of Amit Shah and th eguy essentially running BCCI) attempted to shift the ICT to a all orange jersey (the colour of Hinduism). The players were presented with a all Orange jersey 2 days before the match but the players rejected it for numerous reasons and the plan did not go ahead. BCCI attempted to use ICC UNICEF Childrens Day as the reason but in reality that was supposed to take place during the match against Sri Lanka not Pakistan. 2) BCCI had ordered the cameraman to stop showing BCCI officials and BJP politicians (Especailly Jay Shah) when the ICT started to lose the finals against Australia and only show them if it looked like the ICT was going to make a comeback. 3) Kapil Dev the winning captain of India's 1983 team was not invited after he extended his support to the Wrestlers during the Indian Wrestlers Protest. Severaql other players who extended their support to were not invited. Hiwever, the person who played Kapil Dev in 83 movie ,Ranveer Singh, got the invite. 4) The BCCI was not treating the World Cup as a WOrld Cup but rather as just another IPL event and ignored all foreign country fans during the entire tournament. 5) Local BJP workers found themselves with free tickets for matches being played in Ahmedabad in which many started reselling them for a highly inflated price. A 4000-5000 Rupee ticket was being sold for 4-5 Lakhs. (Remember India vs Pakistan was initially sold out according to BCCI but after some people questioning them BCCI suddenly released 18000 tickets few days before the match without explanation of why they kept the 18000 tickets with them until that point) 6) All media network crew claimed they were feeling comfortable working in all the venues in India except Ahmedabad as all local members claimed they weren't working for the ICC or BCCI but "Mr.Shah" and only his rules apply here. Many quoted "Who are you? We don't care who you are. W3gat is the ICC? We will do what Mr.Shah says. Mr.Shah wants this or that. This is Ahmedabad" 7) The DJ in Ahmdeabad was reportedly ordered to play patriotic and "Jai Shree Ram" songs after which the crowd started multiple Booing and Heckling and even the ICT felt uncomfortable and unhappy with that. 😎 Pakistan cricket team and journalist were only given visas in the last minute with multiple Pakistani journalist receiving warnings upon entering stating their visas would only be valid as long as they were in contention and the second they were out as well.
