Which app you use ? Zoom or teams ? 

I think both had noise reduction options. Also, invest in high quality headset which has noise reduction on mic ( don't confuse with ANC which is for your ears / speakers ).

vpn/network issues ravochhu. When I first logged in from India it raised some red flags (out of country logins). It all depends on your company security and network monitoring.

inform client 

you should have already signed documents like data security etc when you joined client 

if client finds out you are working out of us then they can sue you for hacking probability etc

Last year ma company lo okadu tried , somehow our infra team got alert every 15 min (may be due to IP change, even with VPN) and they asked my manager for explanation. Lot of dancing happened.

Companies are more serious about their data and privacy now a days.

so, think twice before doing.
