It’s about the priorities. Culture plays a major role.

We want our kids to excel but desi’s have a different meaning for excellence, which means going to the best school and working for the best company if not medical school. Desi culture lo excellence ante ide…this is what we have been taught…

I know a Sardar who is a HVAC Tech and makes $10k/month and another IT guy who also makes 10k/month yet IT guy is sought after in our culture..

End of the day, avutalodini chusi compare chesukuni eduvadam mana budhi…we have to live with it.

I think we are all distracted throughout the day.. andariki focus thaggipoyindi bcoz of too many distractions around… though we think we are working long hours, we in fact actually work less than half of that time.. the remaining time is all wasted on watching phone, videos, social media, kids activities, stock trading,  etc..

i feel that because of the cold they just enjoy outdoor weather when it is good. pushes them to enjoy while it lasts. rest of the year outdoor activities kashtam kada.
