In comparison last time Hyderabad recorded  31cm of rain in a single day. Mana telugu media edo Hyderabad ika ledu annatu build up icharu.

The GHMC area recorded 31 cm rain on a single day for the first time after 1916, resulting in inundation of several areas, particularly those adjoining the tanks that reached their full levels.

highest ever Hyd received was 24cm on aug 2000.

its a weighted average of half dozen rain gauges that imd installed across Hyd. Some areas obviously would've touched 30+.

during that deluge in chennai, a lot of suburbs in the south got pounded with 49.5cm

mumbai got recently rainfall that was 55cm something on a single day as avg. just accept Hyd infra is piss poor like all other cities. and there's no hope for improvement too given the general attitude to basic civic infra in India, in contrast to fancy flyovers, rich man's metro and huge airports

That is average across Hyderabad  I guess but some areas received as much 100mm in 2 hours and 30cm in 24 hours.

exceprt from news coverage during last flooding in Hyderabad

According to data by the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), Hayathnagar received the highest rainfall in a 24-hour period with 288.8 mm as of 8 am on Wednesday. This was followed by Saroornagar at 275.3mm, Musheerabad at 258.3 mm, Uppal at 257 mm, Medipally at 242.3 mm, Bandlaguda at 242.3 mm and Secunderabad at 232.5 mm. All this, in a 24-hour period.

yeah. that's what I said. None of the figures you posted avg to 31cm. it avgs to 19.2cm which is how generally precipitation is reported.

including in bangalore.. whitefield received 19cm, sr nagar 17cm.

I'm currently in bangalore, and it was a heavy deluge yes. but nothing to level of an unpreventable flood. since both hyd and bangalore are situated at much higher altitudes where drain systems can be designed for much cheaper than in cities that lie at the sea level like chennai/mumbai.

what a depressing thought. Its always something that someone 'must' pay, and no hope for better coordination and planning going into the future.

a lot of these 'encroachers' are the state/central govts themselves too.

your solution is to just keep your head down, and carry on with your work. If you die, that's your bad luck. TG is proud to have a son like you.

chatrapati cinema choosaava? andulo okadu untadu physically disabled slightly who constantly defuses the tension in prabhas's slums in the first half.

ninnu choosthey adhey gurthosthundhi.

i think capitalism has created a lot of people like you who've already resigned to their fate and happy at whatever crumbs being thrown at them. encourage people to embrace their daridram too. only solace is to watch their region, nation, caste or whatever grow and achieve things that other regions, nations, castes don't. lmao.

Depressing thought emundi andulo ?

Govts took money from these encroachers and legalized their habitats. Shouldn’t have happened in the first place…ipudu flooding avoid cheyalante you need thousands of crores. Edikelli teesukostav ? Almost a decade back, estimation esthe 25,000 crores and about 1 lakh properties need to be acquired to overcome this project and it was well before the new new land acquisition laws were implemented. On present scale, it will not cost less than 50-60k crores…

Prati daniki abho ayyo anyayam papam ante saripodu…max 10 days of problem per year problem ki thousand of crores karchupedtava ? Poni karchu pettina, existing laws and courts interference lekunda project complete cheyocha ?

state/central/ghmc/individuals or politicians…so endi aithe ? Flood vachi Munigithe evadaina okate
