Plan to build Amaravati is typical uppercaste mindset at work.

the ruling elite don't want to make the existing cities better, and share it with their fellow people.

they want new shiny ones that'll make the poor invisible. The priority is always the rich uppercastes.

that's why all these shiny new things will not revolve around walkable areas, good public transport etc. It'll be around signature towers, wide roads, big bridges etc.

sometimes these things benefit the lower class too - people who live as hawkers etc..but its not by design. just by accident.

Amaravati is the worst example of such mindset at work. Other cities including Hyd, Chennai are not exceptions to this mindset.
