Given your salary, better try a location that has no state tax and low rents.. 
Las Vegas try cheyyi… they have no state tax and lowest property taxes.. rents are cheap too.. or even Memphis or Nashville Tennessee.. 

Dallas has become very expensive.. 2bd apartment min 2K undi in average apartments.. and if you buy a home in the future, the property taxes are too high..
