Yes, at my previous client Azure dept colleague used to get way more than manager.

base pay yes, manager kante ekkuva ravochu...but bonus is what makes difference here. Manager ane role ki ekkuva % bonus untadi than team member...so adi kuda add chesthe, overall ga Manager might get more.

I get more pay than my manager...but I work as a contractor under him though..

there are 2 different paths. Management & technical.

I personally like architect role better than manager role. Actually in some good companies architects have more scope & $$ compared to mgrs.

if u want to go in mgmt path, become the mgr, gain exp and move to better job.
