Met Ashok and his wife few times. Wife works for Robinhood as EM (free loader job with L5 Amazon Eng Manager title).

Until 2018 Tesla jobs were not much desired in Bay area due to pay and also company growth so mostly mediocre talent went in. Based on my interaction with him, he never believed in Tesla and always wanted a job in Google or Meta or Apple.

In 2019/2020 with Tesla astronomical stock growth and Elon Musk mentioning his name in podcast and his name came into circulation.
