I used Costco jackets for weather ranging from -40 to 20 deg F Minnesota weather 

It all depends on layering even with jacket at extreme temperatures layering is important. 
 

I did run in sub zero temperature. But protected with good clothing

Though it’s same factory .. Each brand will have own formulae to make the final product that will not reveal with other competitors. You will feel more comfortable , warm and look stylish when you wore branded ones
