You have to make it 2:2… you really need your wife on your side.. she has to realize that you are not happy with their poking in your life and making both of you miserable.. end of the day, you both have to live happily… 

try to make them very uncomfortable when they bring up these things.. be blunt.. 

One of my friend didn’t let his in laws to come to US for 8 years as they started poking into his life and totally cut them off.. they realized it finally after few years and they stopped involving… that is an extreme though..
