Sadly we pay 

yes, property taxes are a lot since house prices increased a lot in last 3 years.

but, still people calculate income tax savings compared to other states and see overall its benefit them..

similarly no income tax states could say, wow!! why. you are wasting money on income tax oh my god, go to a diff state 😊

Texas property used to be cheap and property tax was reasonable back then but the recent price increases have made the property taxes too high 

But depending on your income levels , it's not as bad as others. Low income people pay more tax in Texas

Some parts are bad, it's because of it's industrial past esp parts of north Jersey which are in port area but rest of the state is beautiful than a state like TX, It has arguably best educated population, second to none location, best universities and Schools than any other Desi places and quality of jobs very high compared to other places because of NYC may be next SFO in tech(thanks to NYC).
