First of all so many good food options based on cheap price.

Edho swami narayan temple anta (it is not a hindu temple). They sell reasonably tasty snacks in cheap prices.

Also many many good pizza joints all reasonably priced. same with chinese also.

only real estate expensive and roads konni areas lo rough ga untai.

Also so many banquets etc. if you are willing to live in some old or small housing its fairly decent.

in winter its much worst

not only food. things like banquet etc for desis - i saw only there in east coast.

also lot of religious and charity organizations means low cost tasty food too.

But non desi like italian and chinese also very good.

Next only next to Bay Area if you are okay to commute to NYC or Jersey City.

 

For some one working in finance finance NYC is the place to be and NJ is a bargain.

NJ is just a pitstop for NYC , huge amount of taxes (2nd highest in the country)  , bad infra , corrupt politicians, drug epidemic  , etc 

I just don't get the appeal of the state aside from having a huge desi community in some places . The few times i visited  the desi areas were not even clean
