Yeah, for ages sons alone carried the burden of responsibility and caring for parents all the way into their old age and so properties were always given to sons. If daughters share responsibilities, bills, expenses, debts and care for parents equally, there should be no issues sharing properties equally as per the law. This is where the problem arises as daughters barely take any responsibilities How about daughters/sisters going to courts against parents/brothers for equal share these days (even after they took dowries before) because the law allows it? It is said that more than 67% court cases in India are about property disputes and more than 15% murders are over property disputes. If responsibilities, bills, expenses and debts are shared equally, giving equal share to daughters will result in cordial relationships.
