Hours after the teaser of Prabhas starrer Salaar was released, in which he was labeled as ‘the most violent man’, The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri on Thursday launched a tirade against films showing “nonsense action with loud sound”.

Agnihotri did not specifically mention any names but tweeted: “People aren’t born violent. Your children’s minds are conditioned by glamourising violence in popular literature, cinema and politics by industry leaders who should be actually inspiring young minds for peace. In such a violent world only solution is #CreativeConsciousness.”

He also tweeted, “Now glamourising extreme violence in cinema is also considered talent. Promoting nonsense cinema is considered a bigger talent. Promoting a non-actor as biggest star is considered biggest talent. And assuming audience is super-dumb is mother of all talent.”

Surprisingly, Agnihotri also showered praises on Tom Cruise starrer Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One terming it “extraordinary”.

He tweeted, “Extraordinary. Experiment. Innovation. Engineering. Execution. The world of extraordinary action cinema – @MissionFilm. I hope someday we build something like this instead of just building a star image.”

Further, Vivek said: “We have also made such grand films with great engineering and powerful stories. Sholay, for example. But now everyone believes dumbing down the audience, creating marketing hype and nonsense action with loud sound can make a film hit. Looking at Indian BO, it’s true also.”

The teaser of the much-awaited Salaar was revealed early this morning with the lead actor Prabhas being dubbed as “the most violent” man with a well-built body and ammunition. Prabhas’ fans were excited watching their favourite hero in the teaser of Salaar Part 1: CEASEFIRE, which was evident through in the rave reviews.

The multi-starrer produced by Hombale Films, featuring Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan and Jagapathi Babu, will hit the screens on September 28 this year, simultaneously in five languages — Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.

Tom Cruise is extraordinary, his discipline, commitment to action sequences and ability to do them even into his 60s is unparalleled in cinematic history.

Ee tagubothu dunnapothu Prabhas gaadu 40s ke grandpa la looking without VFX he looks like Krishnam Raju in his 60s. No comparison at all

cinema ella tealo vade chepte vade anne teachu ga, nothing stops as long as the audience like it and no one knows what majority likes as it changes from time to time, movie making is all about orchestration of crafts and make people believe for that length and duration, creative works could not be judged right away, no one forces any one to watch any movie,

I saw KGF1 and KGF2 recently. Pedda twists levu...average story. But new way of story telling with slow motion, never seen hero elevation, good background music and songs. Everyone knows results. Overall a loud movie with too much violence.

Will have to see how Prashant neel does with salaar. It appeared similar.
