KTR praises 'Gujarat model', faces KCR's wrath!

BRS President and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has been aggressively promoting the "Telangana model," claiming that the welfare schemes and development programs under the Telangana model are far superior to Modi's "Gujarat model" or any other state model.

KCR has vowed to implement the Telangana model across the country if BRS is voted into power at the Centre in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Even KCR's son and IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao has been frequently criticizing the "Gujarat model" in his tweets for the past two years.

However, in an unexpected turn of events, KTR suddenly praised the "Gujarat model."

While speaking to the media after releasing the Municipal Department's annual performance report, KTR stated that the Telangana government followed the "Gujarat model" to raise municipal bonds for GHMC, similar to the municipal bonds raised by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. KTR mentioned that these municipal bonds greatly helped in mobilizing funds for the development of Hyderabad and the creation of new world-class infrastructure facilities.

KTR's comments came at a time when there are speculations in political circles that BRS and BJP have gotten closer again to counter the rise of Congress in Telangana.

However, KTR's comments reportedly caused significant embarrassment to CM KCR. He was said to be angry and gave KTR a stern warning not to make such comments in public, especially when the Assembly polls are just four months away.

KCR is reportedly worried that such comments will give an advantage to the BJP and hinder his plans to expand BRS in other states.

According to BRS circles, KCR wants to maintain a "secret tie-up" with the BJP and does not want it to become "public" at least until the Assembly elections are over.
