Tesla adds cash discount on Model 3/Y through referral program

Starting July 6, 2023, if your friend orders a new Model 3 or Model Y using your referral link:

  • They’ll receive $500 off their purchase price and 3 months of Full Self-Driving Capability.
  • You’ll receive 10,000 referral credits.

Tesla referrals are the reason they were able to sell in the first 8 or 9 years.... Without any ad budget and withstand intense negative publicity by media.

Tech reviewers who can give out referral links ( traditional media can't do that ) actively pushed Tesla , ignoring the build quality issues.

Some YouTubers got free cars - that's how generous each referral is.

It's severely curtailed in last few years.

Fast that Tesla is doing it again in addition to price cuts , discounts means they need all tools to sell the vehicles they are producing.

Pro's

Cons's

Buy a hybrid for now. EV is not worth it yet. May be after 5 more years. My 2 cents.

If you need 2 cars, one car can easily be EV.

I second that.

2nd car can be EV....Tesla lo model 3 or Y.

Inko 10yrs aithe all over US lo gas stations lone EV charging points pettochu...so we dont have to worry abt searching for charging points and tech might be improved a lot so that 5mins lone full charge avvochu...who knows.

Not 10 years, in 2 to 3 years there will be enough super chargers. You don't need to fill it up, you just need 5 minutes to get about 60 to 80 miles of charging - IF you really need to.  Primarily charging happens at home.

Next battery technology is 5+ years away and we don't know how that will pan out.

Sometimes average products / technologies win and superior solutions lose out. It all depends on market timing and other factors.

We may be stuck with current battery tech for foreseeable future.
