Having no Dealership network is big advantage for Tesla. All other companies should pay attention to this issue otherwise dealers and auto manufacturers both will be digging their own grave. If not already.

Their hands are tied. Most of the legislations protecting the dealers are codified into state and local laws .

Existing manufacturers can't do any thing. Only option is to start a completely new brand, fully independent from parent company. Even then, they can't get away in some states. That's how tight the laws are written.

Same laws also prohibit Tesla from directly selling in some states.

They are reliable for sure. But, a truck that supposed to cost 40k is now 60k to 70k. 

That makes easy for Tesla to compete.

Detroit abandoned cars in a short sighted decision, just feeding in expensive trucks and SUVs. Wrong decision

WOW don’t know government regulates this. Also don’t know Tesla can’t sell directly in some states.

may be future will change. Everyone follows Tesla model. Of course automobile industry and dealer network is part of the bigger economy, but they suck. They have to go.
