WOW don’t know government regulates this. Also don’t know Tesla can’t sell directly in some states.

may be future will change. Everyone follows Tesla model. Of course automobile industry and dealer network is part of the bigger economy, but they suck. They have to go.

Yes, many doesn't know.

Initially these laws are are there to protect franchises from dealers - to protect huge investments that dealers put in setting up sales and service centers.

Manufacturers also used this sometimes to their advantage - to control the price , push inventory out etc.

Consumer suffered for decades, but all are happy.

Laws protecting franchises are now baked into state and local laws.

Tesla , even after investing billions in Texas can't change the state law to allow them to sell directly in Texas.

Tesla used technology to get around these laws. No one would believe you can buy 100k car over internet.

Now, GM and Ford can't do it even if they want to

Ya Tesla selling model better. No bargaining, no third party mark ups - nachithe konu leka pothe lite. E dealers gallu daarunam ga untaru

Yes. But local dealers and sales commission people lose out. Money only goes to Tesla.

Long term, local economy suffers unless these dealers are replaced with something else.

Walmart and online companies devastated many small towns in last 20 years. It's going to continue even more

That makes easy for Tesla to compete.

compete with what?

are you saying model Y is a competitor to F150 which is a full size pickup

they serve different purpose altogether

I'm talking about Cyber truck, which is very close to start deliveries.

Even if starting price for Ford is lower on paper, a consumer knows exactly what they are paying for Tesla and don't want to deal with dreaded Ford dealers.

Detroit dealers are worst among all franchise dealers.

Well, Cyber truck just built their first vehicle. They may fail to go full production, but that's another topic.

Ford want to go direct to consumer, but they can't. Read about it. Only way to get out is create completely new brand

well, you said deliveries are close. Prototypes can’t be delivered to consumers. The design is flawed from the beginning, it will not pass crash tests

They announced 1st production vehicle coming out of the line.

Do you have any article which makes the case for flawed design? All Tesla cars are way way above competitors in safety scores.

Arstechnica has very high reputation.

3 years old...

You are way under estimating the resources and talent Tesla has.

They would have already done internal testing way back.

I did read.   It's mostly based on 3 years old report and some unproven reports.

You don't know how much media manipulation happens ?

One hedge fund may take puts for the week and may be counting on 5$ dip in price to make millions. They will spend a % of that to push these stories in a co ordonated fashion

They can do service sell used cars only ?  They will be treated as any other mechanic shop and user car shop. No additional mark ups or over actions and dealer add ons.
